Mission Statement

The Health Department is concerned with the prevention and control of disease. Prevention of illness, injury, disability and maximization of health and wellness are paramount. The Health Department is dedicated to the promotion of public and environmental health through the education and support of the citizens of the City.

Rules & Regulations

As a statutory agency, the Health Department promulgates rules and regulations which serves as a guide in its administration of the law. The regulations provide for the issuance of permits and licenses, establish reasonable standards and requirements, and set out enforcement and penalty mechanisms.
