Attention Residents: Run Water to Help Prevent Freezing Pipes

January 6, 2018: Due to expected subzero temperatures in the coming days, the Attleboro Water Department recommends that residents run water in their homes to help prevent freezing of underground water services. One faucet in the home should be run at a slow stream, about the size of a soda straw until further notice.

In addition, unheated closets or cupboards containing plumbing should be left open. Unheated basements containing plumbing should be left open to the upstairs as well, if possible. These areas are especially susceptible to freezing, and homes with these types of enclosures are highly encouraged to follow this notice.

If you have further questions, please contact the Water Department at 774-203-1850.
