Mendon Road Sidewalks
Beginning in the month of August, the City of Attleboro will begin installing new sidewalks, along Mendon Road from Washington Street to Hampson Street utilizing City
Sidewalk Account funding.
The sidewalk construction will take place over several weeks, and the construction is weather dependent. The first phase of construction will include excavation and preparation of the sidewalk area. Following this, new granite curbing will be installed and aligned. Next, new concrete sidewalks will be formed and poured. The final phase of the sidewalk construction will include repair of driveways. Public Works crews and our contractor will work with each resident to try and minimize the disruption caused by the construction.
Additionally, residents will need to remove any personal property (plantings, fencing, etc.) located in the City Right of Way, before new sidewalk construction can begin. The City will require an additional six feet (6’) of City Right of Way, where new sidewalks are to be installed, to be cleared of residents personal property.
We recognize that roadway construction may also bring dust and noise. Please accept our advance apologies for any inconvenience caused. Your patience is very much appreciated.
