Think Before You Sink
Winter is the time winter sports such as sledding, skiing, and also ice-skating. However, temperatures are not always cold enough to freeze lakes and ponds thoroughly. We can have fun playing on the ice as long as we follow safety rules:
Our body's react adversely to being submerged in icy
water. It is difficult to pull ourselves out of ice
water due to our body's reaction to cold temperature
and the weight of the water.
When your body becomes numb from the icy waters, you
won't feel anything and you won't be able to react
quickly. When the body slows down, you get tired quickly.
When this happens you can't think straight and gradually
lose consciousness. This is when you will begin to
sink. Even though ice covered ponds can be dangerous,
we can still have fun as long as we are aware and
careful.
"THINK BEFORE YOU SINK! THINK BEFORE YOU SINK!"
