Youth Golf Day- May 13th 2023
LIMITED to 50 PARTICIPANTS in 2023. Priority to Attleboro Residents. See link to the left for registration form.
The annual Attleboro Youth Golf Day is held in early May each year. The event, for beginners and skilled players alike, is a day for the youngsters ages 6 to 16 to enjoy a golf clinic, play a few holes of golf, enjoy a cookout and free raffle prizes. Due to the generosity of our sponsors all of the days events are free of charge for the kids. Due to the generosity of the Mike Michel Golf Fund all participants will receive a pass to return and play a free round at The Links At Mass Golf.
Youth Center
The Attleboro Youth Center is an after school program for the children of Attleboro. The Youth Center is funded by grants from Community Development of Attleboro, Inc. and the Friends Of Attleboro Recreation (F.O.A.R.). This support allows us to offer a wide range of supervised after school activities.
Director
Tim Killion, Attleboro Recreation's Program Coordinator serves as the Youth Center Director. Working with kids on both the group and a one-to-one basis, Tim and his able staff are positive role models who work to instill a strong sense of values within children participating.Locations
For many years Locust Valley Golf Course served as host for Youth Golf Day activities. Their generosity in donating the course for many years is greatly appreciated. In 2015 the event moved to the Links at Mass Golf, formerly M.G.A. Links, in Norton as a Par 3 course is better suited for the kids. Like Locust Valley in the past, their donation of the course for the day allows 100% of proceeds to go directly to supporting the Attleboro Youth Center and Attleboro Recreation.Sponsors
The Attleboro Area Golf Association (AAGA) sponsors the Golf Clinic. Members of the AAGA work with Club Professional Drew Chapman at The Links At Mass Golf, and his staff in conducting the clinic. Many thanks go out to all who give up a prime Saturday morning, early in the golf season, to help introduce youngsters to the wonderful game of golf. The clinic consists of three stations: putting, chipping and driving.
Unique Staff
A unique aspect of our golf day is that children who participate in Youth Center activities throughout the year serve as support staff for the day's activities. From registering participants, to serving soft drinks, to hauling trash - the kids who benefit from the day's proceeds will be active participants in making it happen.Come join us for a great family event for a great cause !!!
In the event of rain, this event will be rescheduled to a date that will be determined.
